The LKA fixtures for the 2015/16 season can be found here. Some fixtures still need confirming but they will be updated if it is required.

EKInspired website

EKInspired, England Korfball’s programme to promote clubs, is now up and running. The website can be accessed here.

This programme aims to help clubs to recruit more volunteers, to benefit from resources and funding and to grow the number of new players. You can register your club using the link.

Brunel University (students)

Brunel University are based in Uxbridge. The club is aimed at students at the university. For more details, please email brunelkorfball@gmail.com.

Level 1 coaching course – 14 November

England Korfball are running a Level 1 coaching course on 14 November between 12.30pm-6.30pm. This will be at Monks Hill Sports Centre, Farnborough Avenue, Selsdon, Croydon, CR2 8HD.

The entry cost will be £70 for England Korfball Association-affiliated members or £80 for non-members. However, the London Korfball Association will be subsidising £30 for any entrant connected with a London club, either as a member or in connection with a London club’s junior programme.

London clubs’ training sessions

The London clubs are commencing their training sessions ahead of the new indoor season. Details are below.

Bec
4th team, 5th team and new players:
Tuesdays 7.30-9.30pm
Start date: Tuesday 15th September
Venue: Graveney School, Welham Road, Tooting, London, SW17 9BU
2 free sessions are offered to new players initially.

1st, 2nd and 3rd team:
Wednesdays 7.30pm-9.30pm
Start Date: Wednesday 9th September
Venue: Whitgift School, Haling Park, South Croydon, London, CR2 6YT
There are trials for 4 weeks, cost £10 per session (please note no free session). After trials (Wed 7th October 2015), attendance is only after contact with the Bec committee and agreement with the coach.

Bromley

Croydon
Club training is on Thursdays, commencing on 10th September
Under 9s: 6pm to 6.45pm (not including school holidays)
Under 11s and under 13s: 6pm to 7pm (not including school holidays)
Seniors: 8pm to 10pm
Venue: Monks Hill Sports Centre, Farnborough Avenue, Selsdon, Croydon CR2 8HD
2 free sessions are offered to new players initially.

Squad training for the 1st and 2nd team is on Tuesdays also at Monks Hill Sports Centre from 8.15pm to 10pm starting on 8th September.

Harrow Vultrix
Training is on Saturdays 5pm to 7pm

Supernova

4 free sessions are offered to new players initially.

Squad training will be on Mondays commencing on 7th September between 7pm to 9pm at Millwall Community Trust Centre, Zampa Road, London, SE16 3LN. The first two weeks are trials. Non-squad training will be on Tuesdays between 6.30-8pm commencing on 22nd September also at the Millwall Community Trust Centre.

Balham Astrokorf – winners

Congratulations to Ben Kingz Ball Starz on winning the Balham Astrokorf tournament this year! After five weeks of matches, they pipped Izzy Waterson’s Warriors by half a point.

Competitions committee meeting – 12 September

The next LKA competitions meeting will be at Holy Trinity Church Hall, 234 Broadway, Wimbledon, SW19 1SB on 12 September between 10am-12pm.

EKA EGM – 6 September

The England Korfball Association EGM will be held on Sunday 6th September between 1pm to 1.30pm at Whitgift School, Croydon CR2 6YT . This will be during the EKA’s Club Day.

The EGM is being held because the recent AGM was not quorate. The LKA would encourage representatives of all clubs to attend this EGM to increase the likelihood of it being quorate. The purpose of the meeting is to carry out the voting that could not be completed at the AGM.

England Korfball Inspired Club Day – 6 September

England Korfball is running an England Korfball Inspired Club Day on Sunday 6th September at Whitgift School, South Croydon CR2 6YT.

The day will consist of two workshops provided by Club Matters tutors, ‘Developing a marketing strategy’ and ‘Club finances’ as well as the official introduction to England Korfball Inspired programme. The day is an opportunity for club leaders and administrators to receive information and training that will help them to run a successful club, as well as providing the opportunity to share best practice with each other.

The cost is £20 per person.

Coaches’ Continual Professional Development Day – 5 September

England Korfball will be running a continual professional development for coaches on Saturday 5 September at Whitgift School, South Croydon CR2 6YT between 11am to 4.30pm.
