Level 1 coaching course – Saturday 11 March

A Level 1 coaching course is being held on Saturday 11 March 2017 in Croydon between 11am and 5pm. The venue is:

Monks Hill Sports Centre
Farnborough Avenue,
Croydon,
CR2 8HD

The cost is £70 for members of EKA clubs and £80 for non-members. You can enter here.

The LKA will subsidise £30 for any member of an LKA club. If you wish to take advantage of this subsidy, please contact Mark Paxton at treasurer@londonkorfball.com. The subsidy will be paid once you have completed the course so please pay the full entry fee to enter.

Brunel University Korfball Club

A new club is starting at Brunel University, based in Uxbridge. This is for students at the university.

Indoor training has started for London clubs

Bec:

Club training: Tuesdays starting from 13th September 7.30pm to 9.30pm at Graveney School in Tooting (SW17 9BU)
Squad training: Wednesdays starting from 7th September 7.30pm to 9.30pm at City Heights Academy in Tulse Hill (SW2 3PW)
Offers for new players: Discounted fees are available for the rest of the season for students, under 18s, the unemployed and recent graduates.

Youth training (13 to 16 year olds): Tuesdays from 6th September 7.30pm to 8.30pm at Harris Academy Beckenham, Manor Way, Beckenham BR3 3SJ. £4.50 a session with the first two sessions free.

P&M Pumas 3 win the Kennington Astrokorf

Well done to everyone who played in, refereed or helped to organise the Kennington Astrokorf on Monday 22 August.

P&M Pumas 3 were the winners with Highbury 2 in second place.

Continual Professional Development Day for coaches – 3rd September

The EKA are running a Continual Professional Development Day for coaches on Saturday 3rd September between 12-6pm. The venue is Whitgift School, Haling Park, Croydon, CR2 6YT.

The cost of the day is £25 per person.

Level 1 coaching course – Saturday 26 March

England Korfball are running a Level 1 coaching course on 26 March 2016 between 11am and 5pm. This will be held at Monks Hill Sport Centre, Farnborough Avenue, Croydon, CR2 8HD.

The cost is £70 for members of EKA-affiliated clubs or £80 for non-members. You can enter here.

The LKA will subsidise £30 towards the entry cost for any member of an LKA club or anyone connected to the juniors programme of an LKA club. If you wish to take up this subsidy, please pay the full cost of the entry fee using the link above and then e-mail Mark Paxton, the LKA treasurer, at treasurer@londonkorfball.com requesting the subsidy. The £30 subsidy will be paid once the course has been run.

Refereeing rules exam – 2 March

The second part of Bec’s refereeing theory course will be on Wednesday 2nd March.

People attending will have the opportunity to take the refereeing exam which is part of the requirements to become a qualified referee. This session will last between 7pm and 8pm.

The venue is Whitgift School, Haling Park, London, South Croydon CR2 6YT.

Teaching Children Korfball course – Wednesday 17 February

England Korfball are running a Teaching Children Korfball course on Wednesday 17 February between 12.30pm and 3.30pm. This will be at:

Monks Hill Sport Centre,
Farnborough Avenue,
Croydon,
CR2 8HD

This is an introductory course for people who are aspiring or current primary or secondary school teachers who have little or no experience of korfball. This 3 hour course will provide you with a basic knowledge of how to play and teach the sport.

The England Korfball Association is running a survey for clubs on their development needs. Please fill in the survey for your club here.

EKInspired, England Korfball’s programme to promote clubs, is now up and running. The website can be accessed here.

This programme aims to help clubs to recruit more volunteers, to benefit from resources and funding and to grow the number of new players. You can register your club using the link.
